Announcing ICF’s 13th Annual “In Their Shoes” 5K
The Iraqi Children Foundation (ICF) announced today that the 2025 Global “In Their Shoes” 5K run/walk to benefit Iraqi orphans and vulnerable children will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at Rock Creek Park in the nation’s capital, Washington, DC. Those unable to join in person in Washington, DC, can join the “virtual” 5K instead, and run/walk anywhere around the world. Awards will be given to the largest 5K teams as well as the largest fundraisers for Iraqi children. Participants can run, walk, or simply cheer others on and stay for the 5K after-party with snacks, music, and family friendly activities.
“We are thrilled to announce our 13th annual ‘In Their Shoes’ 5K,” ICF Executive Director Patricia Stakem said. “There are so many children in Iraq in desperate need of support, and ICF is working hard to provide critical services including nutrition, education, legal and social support, and disability care. We have a new disability clinic opening this year, and we are expanding our reach within Iraq to a fourth city in 2025 – this 5K is a great way for us to raise awareness and funds for this important cause.”
Registration for the in-person and virtual 5K is now open online with discounted “early bird” rates until Saturday, June 30th. Registration rates rise July 1st.
ICF is grateful for the generous support of sponsors who make significant investments in these children including Khudairi Group, Al Nadir Trading Company and Al-Khudairi Rentals, Crescent Petroleum, the Pepsico Foundation, L3Harris, Al Awsat, Spectrum Integrated Solutions, Objective Area Solutions, Scott Advocates, and The Children’s Village.
